RESTART Whitepaper Final Version presented during the “Shaping Horizons in Future Telecommunications” event in Rome

The final version of the RESTART whitepaper – Techno-Economic Vision of the Future of Telecommunications – will be presented in Rome during the Final Plenary Dissemination Event, taking place from January 19 to 21.

This version marks the completion of a two-year collaborative project between the Osservatori Digital Innovation of Politecnico di Milano and Fondazione RESTART, resulting in one of the most comprehensive research works on the European Telecommunications ecosystem. The whitepaper provides crucial insights into a new model of ecosystem and value network, quantifying its market value in the EU divided by the many different value activities of the model and projected growth rates (CAGR) under present conditions.

A key contribution of this work lies also in the development of four future scenarios, each illustrating how the ecosystem’s value creation potential may evolve based on market, industrial strategy and regulatory decisions. These scenarios serve as key tools for policymakers and industry stakeholders, enabling them to chart informed pathways toward a more innovative, competitive, and sustainable European telecommunications ecosystem.
