RESTART Book: the main contributions of the programme

The RESTART Foundation is proud to present the RESTART Book, a publication that summarises the most significant results achieved by the research community. The volume brings together contributions from projects and Grand Challenges, offering a comprehensive overview of the future evolution of the sector.

To highlight the most significant advances in terms of scientific knowledge and application development, the results have been organised into five thematic areas that outline the trajectories of innovation in telecommunications from the perspective of the RESTART community.

The five areas of the RESTART Book

The New Network presents advances in network architectures and the management of complex, large-scale infrastructures that form the basis of the digital applications of the future.

The New Technologies brings together results on core communications technologies, including new materials, electronic and optical components, antennas and innovative radio solutions.

The New Applications highlights work carried out on emerging application domains, such as networks for emergency and extreme scenarios, non-terrestrial networks and underwater communications.

The New Ecosystem focuses on analysing future scenarios for the European telecommunications ecosystem, considering technical, economic and regulatory aspects.

The Grand Challenges presents the main results achieved by cross-cutting initiatives involving multiple projects in common challenges.

The RESTART Book is a key resource for researchers, policy makers, businesses and all stakeholders interested in understanding the strategic directions of innovation in European telecommunications.
