RESTART at Rome Future Week with Open Fiber’s “Re-thinking innovation”
RESTART also took part in the third edition of Rome Future Week 2025 thanks to Open Fiber, which on September 19 hosted the workshop Re-thinking innovation at its Rome headquarters — a moment of dialogue dedicated to open innovation and the new frontiers of connectivity.
The event, which turned Rome into a true living laboratory with more than 300 sessions and over 500 speakers, was the occasion to present the main results of RESTART. Open Fiber is in fact involved in six key projects within the program: from edge data centers to fiber sensing, up to optical communications.
CEO Giuseppe Gola opened the session by stressing that these initiatives show “the concrete results of collaboration between companies and universities” and are already close to real industrial and business application.
Alongside him, Silvia Celani, Head of Innovation at Open Fiber, emphasized that “to innovate means to collaborate with universities, startups and innovation hubs, rapidly transforming ideas into concrete and sustainable solutions,” while Francesca Parasecolo, Head of Network Engineering & Innovation, highlighted the strategic value of connectivity for the country’s future.
An event that fostered dialogue between research, industry and local communities, confirming the commitment of RESTART, through Open Fiber, to making innovation open, accessible and sustainable.
