The RESTART program has a total value of 118 million euros, with particular attention to Southern Italy, to which 40% of the funds, equal to 47.2 million euros, are allocated. An important portion of  30%, equal to 32 million euros, is also reserved for Cascade Calls, a mechanism that allows the impact of the program to be broadened through the financing of smaller projects.

The network involves 135 partners, divided between 27 direct partners of the program and 108 additional partners from cascade calls. The program is divided into 32 research projects, 14 of which are structural and 18 focused on specific themes.

People and Training

RESTART aims to strengthen the training of doctoral students to create a new generation of telecommunications engineers, ready to embark on innovative careers. The program integrates academia and industry, enhancing skills through an advanced and practical training path.





Research

The 32 RESTART projects generate innovative results, new technologies and systems to outline the most advanced frontiers of research in the field of telecommunications, addressing 12 clusters of challenges

 


Innovation and Development

RESTART promotes innovation in the telecommunications sector, encouraging technological transfer and increasing the TRL of projects. It supports the creation of start-ups, the development of proof-of-concepts and offers entrepreneurial training, stimulating collaboration between research and industry to generate new solutions and strengthen the competitiveness of companies.


 



Laboratories

RESTART aims to set up laboratories where the results of research projects can be seen in concrete terms, to encourage technology transfer, and to promote research at the national level.


Communication and Dissemination

RESTART guarantees the dissemination of the project’s scientific and technical results to the international community, communicating transparently with partners, raising community awareness on topics of interest and showing the impact of its activities on society.
