RESTART Tech Camp 2025: Palermo hosts the 3rd edition from October 15 to 17
The RESTART community is preparing for a new milestone: the 3rd edition of the RESTART Tech Camp will take place in Palermo, Italy, from October 15 to 17, 2025. After the great success of the first two editions, the initiative returns with an even richer program dedicated to programmable intelligence, mobile networks, and Open RAN architectures.
Awards for innovation: €750 for the best contributions
To stimulate participation and recognize excellence, two awards of €750 each will be assigned:
- Best Technical Contribution
- Best Experimental Contribution
The winners will be chosen by the Technical Committee. Participants are invited to submit a one-page summary (A4, font size 11) presenting ongoing or recently published work in the areas of Open RAN, Mobile, and Wireless Networks.
All accepted submissions will be presented in lightning talk format, offering a dynamic opportunity to share challenges, methods, and innovative perspectives with the community.

Learning by doing: fundamentals of wireless experimentation
The mission of the Tech Camp is to provide participants with the essential foundations for wireless experimentation.
The event will include:
- Keynotes and practical sessions with international experts (confirmed and upcoming speakers on the event page).
- Focus areas: hardware, software, security, and advanced applications.
- Hands-on activities designed to give a comprehensive and applied understanding of the domain.
Beyond research: networking and the spirit of Palermo
In addition to the technical program, the Tech Camp will also offer many opportunities for networking and informal exchange among participants.
The city of Palermo will serve as the backdrop for memorable moments of community building.
