Net4Future: a workshop on the future of telecommunications for a sustainable and inclusive society

/ June 20, 2024/ Events, News

On June 18 and 19, 2024, the periodic workshop on dissemination of project results was held at Open Fiber headquarters, with participation extended to the entire RESTART community.

Representatives of academic and industrial partners gathered to present the current status of project activities and discuss the steps needed to develop a common vision of the future of telecommunications.

During the meeting, activities were planned for the coming months, which will take the form of experimenting with the methodologies outlined during the first period of activity and initiating targeted interlocutions with the crucial stakeholders for the resilience of the sector, belonging to the academic, industrial and institutional context.

The experiments will focus on methodologies and tools to facilitate data and testbed sharing, the definition of a utopian and dystopian scenario for the evolution of telecommunications, and collaboration with companies awarded cascade calls to promote research areas of interest to the project.

At the end of the two days, Net4Future members were welcomed to the Service Operations Center (SOC), a network monitoring center, and the Open Factory, Open Fiber’s testing laboratory, for a direct experience with the innovation initiatives undertaken by the Company.
